Victoria Falls
Submitted by bindero on 2007-03-30 05:32:44 (via www.knoware.co.uk)
Do you know the meaning of the name of Victoria Falls in the local dialect? It is named Mosi-Oa-Tunya – "The Smoke That Thunders". That is because not only the river Zambezi pours over a cliff, but actually pours into a hole caused by a rift. The water then exits at the bottom through a channel, continuing its way further down. Splendid view!

Here a very nice overview of a trip to Zambia with some information about hotels where you can stay. But there’s one thing you learn quickly in Zambia and Tanzania, if you ask if there is hot water, the reply is usually, 'yes' - but it doesn't mean that your room is connected to same!
