| As different as they are, both Rome and Florence have an abundance of squares (piazzas) and fountains, often designed by famous artists. And, of course, the highlights are visited as well, but it's nice to have this theme.

| I honestly liked this article. It has a note of sadness about it, but it also uses a very sophisticated style, which I truly value as a great talent on the part of the author. I must confess though, when in Venice, I have not taken the time to contemplate on its fate in connection with the history. I saw it more through romantic glasses…:o)

| Venice by Night. How romantic! But is it really? This account – hilarious and very precise – describes my impressions, as well. You’ll also enjoy reading about the road trip through the gorgeous Italian Alps and the adventure at the country border.

| Lake Garda - Italy's secret holiday paradise |

| When most Australians or Americans plan a holiday to Italy, the cities of Rome, Florence, Pisa and Venice usually head up their list of must-see places to visit. Suggest Lake Garda, or Lago di Garda, (as it’s known in Italian) to them, and they will probably look at you in bewilderment.
