| This is an article that could have as a motto the phrase: "Better one time to see it, than seven times being explained about it". It provides some good pictures of Minsk, so that everybody can make its impressions about this city.

There are some changes in our country:
Currency: 1USD=2150 BRb
Our Ploshchad' Nezavisimosti is called Ploshchad Lenina now and it was reconstructed in a pedestrian zone.
Prices for Hotels became quite higher.
Prospect Francyska Skoryny was renamed into prospect Nezavisimosti.
A lot of old houses was reconstructed.
All in all uor city Minsk became more beautiful and cleaner since 1997.

Sooo, what can i say.
There is a mistake in the article. On the 8th photo there is a Hotel "Belarus" on the left/ To see hotel Planeta you should walk in the same direction along the street. Also, on the same picture i'd like to comment the houses on the right. I white long block is not really a kind of "soviet" buildings. We call soviet houses "Chrushevka". They are 5 level houses with horrible sound isolation and not equiped with elevators. We have lot's of those types of houses, most of them must be demolished. But still people trying to bring life to those half-dead houses by equiping it with elevators and trying to close from wrong people. So, the block you can see on the picture is rather new and comfortable.
Another group of buildings infront of the picture is called the Trinity Suburb. They are rather old... They are probably one of a kind in our city, they survived after the second world war and came to us in the look it was many years ago. Actually, we have three small spots in the center of the city with such buildings. We call them "Verhnij gorod" or "a Superior Town", however you like. The Trinity suburb is the first part. Another one is situated on the left of the photo #7. If you want to get there, you should pass this church and then turn to the left. And to see the third part of the Superior Town, you should turn back to the center of the city and find it on your own, cause it is closed from peoples eyes with modern buildings.
What else can I say.. Our town became really-really-really different from those pictures you can see in the article. Many streets were reconstructed, new squres appeared, new buildings. In last five years the city's administration revivified few buildings that were built about a century ago and was crashed because of some troubles. The center of the city is really beautiful and clean. So, we have more places where we can have a rest and spend time with our friends.
